About ABA Therapy
What is Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy?

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a scientifically validated approach to understanding and changing behavior. ABA therapy uses principles of learning and motivation to increase helpful behaviors, teach new skills, and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning and daily life. It is widely recognized as one of the most effective treatments for children on the autism spectrum and those with related developmental differences.

Is ABA therapy right for my child?

ABA therapy can benefit children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, and related behavioral challenges. The best way to find out if it's right for your child is through a comprehensive assessment by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Contact us to schedule an initial consultation and we'll help you determine the best path forward for your family.

What ages do you serve?

Count Me In ABA primarily serves children from early childhood through school age. Early intervention is especially impactful, and we encourage families to reach out as soon as they have questions or concerns about their child's development.

Getting Started
How do I get started at Count Me In ABA?

Getting started is simple. Reach out to us through our contact page or by email, and we'll schedule an initial consultation to learn about your child and your family's goals. From there, we'll walk you through the assessment process, insurance verification, and program planning — step by step. You won't be navigating any of this alone.

Do you have a waitlist?

We work hard to keep our intake process moving so families aren't left waiting. Contact us directly to find out about current availability. We'll always be honest with you about timelines and work with you to find the best path to getting your child the support they need as quickly as possible.

What does the initial assessment involve?

Our assessment is conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and typically includes a review of your child's existing records and evaluations, direct observation of your child, standardized assessment tools to evaluate skills and behaviors, and a structured interview with you as the parent or caregiver. The results inform your child's individualized treatment plan.

Insurance & Coverage
Does insurance cover ABA therapy?

In many cases, yes. New Jersey state law requires most commercial health insurance plans to provide coverage for ABA therapy when medically necessary for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Medicaid also typically covers ABA therapy for eligible children. Coverage varies by plan and provider, so we encourage you to contact us — we'll help you verify your benefits and navigate the process.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We are actively working to accept a wide range of insurance plans to serve Newark families. Please contact us directly for the most up-to-date information on accepted insurance providers. If your plan isn't currently listed, reach out anyway — we'll do our best to work with your family and explore available options.

Day-to-Day at Count Me In ABA
What does a typical day look like for my child?

Each child's day is structured around their individualized treatment plan, but typically includes a balance of 1:1 ABA therapy sessions, group activities and peer interaction time, skill-building exercises, play-based learning, and breaks designed around your child's sensory and regulatory needs.

How will I stay informed about my child's progress?

You'll receive daily session notes summarizing what your child worked on and how they did. Your child's BCBA will hold regular meetings to review progress data, update treatment goals, and discuss your observations from home. We maintain an open-door communication policy — you can always reach out with questions between scheduled meetings.

How involved can I be in my child's therapy?

Very involved — and we strongly encourage it. Research consistently shows that children make faster, more lasting progress when families are active participants in the therapeutic process. We offer structured parent training sessions, home strategy coaching, and regular family meetings. At Count Me In ABA, parent involvement isn't optional — it's a core part of how we work.
